Hi there,
Welcome to the pganalyze newsletter for September 2022!
Today, we share the recording of our recent webinar "Optimizing Postgres I/O performance and costs", are asking for input on making the pganalyze app more accessible, and are sharing our latest episodes of "5mins of Postgres".
We also launched two new features that help improve management of servers and API keys in pganalyze, and you can also find a full list of all product updates at the end.
But to start with: We are happy to share that 2 new engineers have joined the pganalyze team, welcome Marko and Keiko!

Watch the recording of our "Optimizing Postgres I/O performance and costs" webinar:
We're proud that almost 300 people joined us in the live session. In case you missed it or want to watch the recording, check out the video below! We take a deep dive into I/O optimization in Postgres, and how tuning I/O helps reduce overall database costs. We also review the different sources of read and write I/O in Postgres, including queries, indexes, internal cache usage and background processes. Lastly, we also take a look at relevant configuration settings and how to tune them.

We had a few people take time out of their day to send us very nice messages with lots of positive feedback, thank you so much - we appreciate it! We are planning on doing more webinars in the future.

Input requested: Accessibility in the pganalyze app
Accessibility is important, and we've identified a few gaps on how pganalyze could work better. As we're prioritizing improvements for upcoming product sprints, we'd love to get your input.
Have you encountered accessibility issues when using the pganalyze app? Respond to this email to let us know anything you've run into, big or small.

New feature: Server Tag Import for Amazon RDS and Amazon Aurora
Once you manage more than a handful of servers, resource tags in AWS become more important to help you control costs, and understand better which team is responsible for a particular instance or cluster.
We're now automatically importing tags for AWS resources monitored by pganalyze, and surface them in the server overview, as well as on individual servers. To start using this feature, upgrade your collector to version 0.45.2.
Follow on features, such as support for additional cloud providers, filtering / grouping, as well as options to use server tags to drive workflows (e.g. for alerting) are on the roadmap.

New feature: Improved API key management
You can now revoke read and collector API keys in the pganalyze app by going to the "API Keys" page in Settings.
Additionally, we are now hiding the full API key by default to prevent issues with shoulder surfing, and make it easier to copy the key value (e.g. to the collector configuration file).
Interested in integrating with the pganalyze API? Take a look at our API documentation, or reach out with any questions.

A brief update on our newsletter redesign
Following the feedback from the recent communication preferences survey, we've been working on developing a new, designed pganalyze newsletter. We're planning on using the new design starting with our next issue, the October newsletter.
Check out a small preview above. Note that "Postgres SPACE" is just a working title, so don't get too attached to it :)
If you have suggestions for a name for the newsletter we'd love to hear them!
